The Captains had to choose their teams on Night 1, and in return they were granted safety for the first week. Whoever wins the HOH grants their entire team safety for the week as well, meaning they can only nominate and ultimately evict members of the opposing team. The team twist lasted for the first two weeks of the game, and was abolished at the beginning of the third week.
Invisible HoH | In Week 5, the HOH was Invisible, meaning that no one else knew who was HOH except for that person, but they were allowed to tell people if they wanted to do so. Since no one knew who the HOH was, they were allowed to compete in the following HOH Competition, but still could not cast an eviction vote that week.
33 | House of Love | Couples | Instead as playing as individuals, the 20 Houseguests were paired off based off of compatibility forms during their audition progress. They would win and hold the title of Head of Household together, win and use the vetos together, be nominated together, and be evicted together. This twist was abandoned shortly after the third eviction, where the previously evicted couples couples competed to return individually. |
34 | Chain of Safety | For the first week of the game, the head of household did not nominate 2 houseguests for eviction. Instead the nominations was determined by a "Chain of Safety" selection process. Beginning with the Head of Household, each HouseGuest would select another HouseGuest to save until three are left unselected, who would then compete for safety in a second challenge to determine that night's second set of nominees.
Invisible POV | During Week 4, the Invisible HOH twist from Season 32 returned, and this time the POV competition results were also kept anonymous as well. |
